Oh god, there are SO many mistakes you can make in life as one of theseโ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐โ"adults" (I mean, guys, I think we're old people now???):
- Pairing pink and yellow flowers in the garden (??!?!?!) (I thought this would look creative, but instead it just looks like I am a colorblind arseweasel)
- Yelling "OJ!" to your Black former-American-NFL footballer friend in the supermarket, because you know he LOVES orange juice and that's your nickname for him inside your head, because everytime you see him he is LITERALLY DRINKING ORANGE JUICE and somehow, someway, your brain NEGLECTED TO MAKE A VERY IMPORTANT CONNECTION until it was too late and it was already flying out of your big, dumb mouth
- Wearing literally anything without shorts underneath it. There is no greater misdeed in an adult female's life than the day she casually *throws on a sun dress* and then *attempts to walk around in it.* Do you know the kind of damage that happens on the inside of a human female thigh when it's HUMID? When it's 89 degrees out? And you're walking around some quaint little antique shop in fucking New Jersey because you thought *it was just such a nice day* to go for a ride? No, honey. Pack your bike shorts. Do not ever leave home without an emergency pair of bike shorts. (This is a commandment of the new new new new new new NEW NEW NEWWWW testament. Which I wouldn't read or believe in, anyway, but at least it would contain good advice.)
But, you know what the absolute worst thing you can do as an adult is? Besides pull money out of your SEP-IRA?
Doing too much unacceptable work.
I think all the time about the systems / ideas / false beliefs / knowledge gaps that are trapping usโand the fact is?
We. Can. Live. So. Much. Better. Than. We. Are.
Can you imagine how life would have changed for a destitute family in the 1600s, if you told them that all they had to do to change their lot in life was push a few buttons?
Can you imagine how life would have changed for someone like my mom, who was a 90s anxiety-riddled social phobe, if you told her that all she had to do to become independent again was talk to the computer, and it would build her an entire empire? Where she could sell her pressed flower wreaths? To strangers from all over the world?
Can you imagine how life would have changed for entire generations of people, if you told them that all they had to do to create financial security, was sit down on the computer for a few days?
Andโcan you imagine how life would have changed for you, if you hadโwait, I gotta whisper hereโcue me whisperingโcue me cupping my hand to your earโcue me trying not to spray youโ
โif you had just set up your goddamn email automations?
I KNOW, I AM SPIRITED TODAY. YOU DID NOT SEE THAT COMING. SWING, BATTA BATTA!
There are a lot of mistakes you can make in life because you don't know better. Like trying to wear gold-plated jewelry because it's "trendy" even though you know you look better in silver. Ugh.
But, then there are the mistakes you make because, even though you do know better, you haven't been able to prioritize / make time / work ON the business instead of jumping around like a rabid zebra inside of it.
(Have we ever seen a zebra jump? Feel like they would be excellent jumpers.)
Setting up your email marketing automationsโlike your welcome sequence and your sales sequence, once and for allโis one of those things. Like making time to set up your will. Really super duper important. But, often just....shoved into the couch cushions, relegated to "someday soon."
Not setting up your email automations is one of the most costly mistakes you can make as, errrr, one of these "adults."
Like, I mean, it'd be like you discovering this secret room in your house, covered in top-to-bottom marble and just full of mile-high stacks of cash, and you just going:
"Eh, don't feel like walking down the stairs."
That is literally the same thing when you don't have any email automations working on your behalf, 24/7, to sell your things on autopilot.
"Eh, don't feel like setting it up."
Well, guess what?
We are done doing unacceptable work.
And yes, any work is unacceptable work if you're doing it without necessity, and without joy, and without a financial upside.
^^^The three deadly sins. Also going in the new new new new new new NEW NEW NEWWWW testament.
Why would we not put the hard stuff on autopilot? Why would we not set up systems to work for us? Why would we run around constantly wondering where our next client or sale is going to come from, having to start all over again from scratch, having to force things that don't need to be forced?
We. Can. Live. So. Much. Better. Than. We. Are.
(Probably with a vacation home in Ireland. And summers in Spain. And an old house you're renovating in Maine. Rhymes!)
And, it all starts with email.
Email automations can change your lot in life, and all you gotta do is hit a few buttons. Sit your ass on the computer for a few days. Learn how to use smart technology to break free of IT ALL.
Imagine setting up a system that printed you $182,000 a year, on autopilot?
That's what would happen if you had a $300 product, and you converted just 605 buyers a yearโnot because you're over there begging / launching / crying / weirdly trying to sell stuff without seeming totally weird, but because you set up an email system that does the heavy lifting for you.
You only need ~1.5 sales a day.
And, you can *totally* do that if you have the right emailsโset 'em up once, let 'em run forever, so you can finally go enjoy your life.
