Want to Learn An Actual Process for Writing With Personality & Becoming More Memorable? Join Us!

Let’s skip the formalities and go straight to dessert:

Because we received such a big response from last week’s blog post on tricks to adding personality to your writing, we’ve decided to flip up our skirts and show you what’s really underneath the hood.

Join me next Saturday, September 21st, in our online classroom / lounge / hang out spot (we’ve got one, you know), for a fun, interactive online writing workshop with myself and staff creative writer, Jess, and learn our actual 10-step process (that anyone can follow) for transforming dull, humdrum writing into personality-filled writing that gets READ. (And remembered!)

  • If you worry that your writing falls flatter than a bad joke at a booze-free dinner party, this is for you.
  • If everything you write seems to lack flair, this is for you.
  • If you want to be memorable, this is for you.
  • If you want that little somethin’ somethin’ in your writing that leaves readers and customers chomping at your heels (AND your shopping cart), this is for you.

Even if you feel like you haven’t got .026 ounces of creativity, we’ll teach you the exact, easy-to-follow 10-step process we’ve developed ourselves (and use!) for editing ANY piece of text or copy, and turning it into something that glows with charisma, pizzazz, and magnetic personality that SELLS–no matter how much you think you stink.

Turns out, you don’t need a natural gift to be a gifted writer. You just need to know how to think like one.

Disclaimer: No writing skills, special knacks and/or raucous sense of humor required.

Double disclaimer: That being said, humor always welcomed with open arms. And gin.

The Dirty Details

Date:

Saturday, September 21st. That’s next Saturday. Hi, calendar!

Time:

9am – 11am PST (12pm – 2pm EST)

Place:

Online, of course. You can attend from anywhere in the world using a computer and internet connection. Once you register, you’ll receive log-in information. Then, on the day of the workshop, you simply click the link and enter our online classroom, where you’ll be able to say hi to me, see my screen, chat with other participants, ask questions, interact with us, and LEARN.

Syllabus:

We’ll get started by learning about the actual psychology of personality-filled writing and WHY it works to engage & increase sales. Then, we’ll follow that up with a demonstration of what that looks like in real writing. From there, we’ll get naughty and teach you the actual how, through an interactive explanation of our own easy-to-follow 10-step process for adding personality to any piece of text you’ve written–even if you aren’t creative–using actual participant (that’s you!) writing samples and workshopping them live. To close, we’ll play with some fun exercises for everyone to do together, before asking for volunteers to share. And then, of course, we’ll wrap with an all-questions-answered, no-holds-barred Q&A. Ash will be hanging out afterward to interact and chat with you and the others. And she might even bring booze. You just have to show up.

Registration Fee:

$99

***Note***

Because our online classroom software can only accommodate a limited number of students (really–this is not an annoying pressure tactic), if you want to join us, register as soon as possible. Tickets will sell out quickly, and while we’re excited to be a full house, we don’t want anyone to miss out who really wants to be there. We also want to see you dougie. THERE WILL BE DOUGIE-ING.

We absolutely cannot wait to see you there.

What The FAQ

1. Is this a copywriting workshop?

No sirree. This is a general writing workshop for anyone who wants to learn a 10-step process for injecting their writing with more personality & voice–even when you feel like you’ve got none. (Though that’s a lie and we’re going to bullwhip it out of you.)

2. Will it be recorded and sent out afterward, in case I can’t attend all of it?

Yes, absolutely. If you can’t make it, or can’t make all of it, you’ll receive the recorded version afterward, both video and audio, for you to save and watch anytime.

3. How long is it?

Two hours, from 9am – 11am PST (12pm – 2pm EST). Ash will be hanging out afterward to interact, so we’ll probably be there for a bit longer, casually, but you can leave the workshop any time.

4.Will you really make me dougie?

Not if you’re lucky.

5. What if I’m not creative and sometimes it makes me cry in the shower?

Doesn’t matter. Creativity doesn’t come in a vacuum; it comes when you know how to combine the right tools to achieve a desired effect, in this case, writing that exudes personality.

6. Will I be able to interact with other participants?

Yup. There’s a handy dandy chat feature where you guys can ham it up and pick on the professor. AHEM. (But don’t forget the professor will be saving the chat and sending it out to everyone afterward. Wink.)

7. Can I raise my hand and ask you questions?

Absolutely. I encourage interaction and want to hear from you! I’ll be asking for folks to chime in during the workshop, and I’ll be staying after the workshop to hang out with anyone interested in chatting.

8. Is there video?

Yes! This is a new feature in our online classroom. Not only am I able to broadcast video, so you can see me, but if you’ve got a web cam, I can put you on video, too. So if you’re asking a question, or we’re chatting, the whole class can see both of us, in real time. (If you choose, of course. You don’t have to go on video, nor do you have to have a webcam.) In sum: It’s cool as hell, and I’ll be switching between video and screen sharing–it’ll be just like we were in person. Except no chance I’ll accidentally spit on you.

9. How long do I have to register?

You can register anytime before next Saturday, but given that the software can only accommodate a limited number of students, you should pull up your pants and register as soon as you can, because otherwise I suspect you’re going to get an annoying error message that says something pompous like, “Oops! Event full! See you next time.”

10. Next Saturday is so far away! What if I forget to attend?

Is this really an FAQ? Just kidding. IT IS. And I’m including it because I’m a forgetful human being myself, and wanted you to know that if you register now, we’ll send you reminders before the event so you don’t decide to run off to Target the morning of and forget ALL ABOUT US.

11. Will you be hosting this workshop again?

I’m a commitment phobe, so no.

12. Will I be able to buy the recording later?

Probably not. Stop asking all the hard questions!

Click here to register to come hang out with myself and Jess next Saturday, and get ready to learn tricks you will never, ever forget for adding personality & memorability to your writing, now and FOREVERMORE. <—Because who doesn’t want to sound like Dracula?
