So.
It’s m’ birthday. Cue the kazoos.
Surprisingly, I didn’t rapidly decay into a pile of ash at the stroke of midnight. Though, I suppose I’m still a pile of Ash, since, you know, that’s my name and all. (Har har har.)
I accidentally had the most amazing evening last night – Maiten convinced me to “go out for one drink for the stroke of midnight” (I was reluctant), and then, right at midnight, Kendal walked in with a humongous lit cake–with our salsa instructor in tow–singing Happy Birthday. Chileans are big on birthdays so everyone stopped and some joined in.
The girls had the whole thing set up.
I teared up, of course.
I’ve actually never had someone throw me a surprise party.
Then, as a part of our surprise, Isaac, the instructor, was taking us to a fancy salsa club we had never been to, to practice our moves in real life.
It was, needless to say, an amazing evening. I’ve never felt more loved. (And my moves weren’t too terrible, either!)
So.
Before all of that love shit goes away–ha–I’m taking a cue from LaPorte and we’re doing a pay what you can sale on You Don’t Need a Job, You Need Guts. (Retails for $40)
If I can help you facilitate a life you’re proud to live, then that’s the best birthday present of all. Well, except for last night, because really, that was pretty fucking amazing. And, again, if Bill Burr were to be shipped to me in a box, that would also probably top the charts.
But for now? Let’s rock the hell out of this thing, baby. Ambirge style.
You want this book?
Now’s your chance.
